Sky Atlantic

Hi.

Is there any possibility of Sky One +1 and Atlantic coming to TT TV?

Thanks.

Brian.

Re: Sky Atlantic

All down to sky. I think I read they have no plan. To allow others to broadcast Atlantic.

SKY Atlantic is currently only available on SKY and I can't see this changing anytime soon unless Talk Talk manage to agree something with SKY, both BT Vision and Virgin Media have held talks with BSkyB over the channel but have been unable to agree a carriage deal, in Virgin's case due to pricing.

Re: Sky Atlantic

Cheers for the replies.
I would have replied sooner but the missus had left orders to hang a rather large mirror.

It is as I thought, but just wondered if TT had any news.
Not that they would spill anyway.
It seems from various articles I did read around the web, is like you said. Sky want to keep this "much coveted" channel to themselves:-(
For time-being at least.
It seems they are playing hardball with Atlantic at least.

Re: Sky Atlantic

Yep, it looks like BSkyB prices the carrying of Sky Atlantic ridiculously high to keep its exclusivity without raising too many eyebrows on the watchdogs' side...

On the other hand, the programs on the channel must cost them quite a lot! I would have loved to watch Games of Thrones Season 3 from 1st April...

Re: Sky Atlantic

is there any prospect of any additional channels coming to talktalk tv / youview or is the platform destined to go the way of homechoice (which was great back in the day).
i know it's early days but starting to feel like it is not really going anywhere already. no sky atlantic, no eurosport etc. etc.

Re: Sky Atlantic

Hi Brian,

I am afraid we don't have any information relating to additional channels being added to YouView.

Cheers

Re: Sky Atlantic

Hi Emma.

I sort of gathered that if any channels or content get added to TalkTalk TV it will just appear:smileyhappy:

Sky are a bunch of so and so's when it comes to Atlanticlol

Re: Sky Atlantic

Hi Brian,

Depending on the channel(s) it may have a little more fanfair than "just appearing"... but your EPG is likely to be the first place you would notice an addition.

Re: Sky Atlantic

Funny enough, my Mrs fancied Game Of Thrones. Typical we haven't got the channel.
What we need is more on demand like you said.
HBO OD just like ABC OD would be awesome:smileyhappy:

Re: Sky Atlantic

Hi Herbie & Brian,

This is something we will feedback. We do anticipate new on demand services will get released over time, as this appears to be the preference of many TV consumers. However we do not have any specifics but will feedback your suggestions.

Re: Sky Atlantic

Hi Brian,

I dont specifically know or can confirm that this relates to a decision by Sky. Neither that it is in respect to Atlantic (despite speculation by other members).

As with any agreements it comes down to negotiation between the parties involved and the assessment on both sides fo the cost benefits analysis. My understanding si Virgni Media did enter talks to resell Sky Atlantic however the wholesale price was a reason Virgin Media did not go ahead.

With this in mind apportioning all the decision making to Sky in this respect, isnt anthing more than speculation. I wouldnt want this thread to be seen to be facilitating such a potential factoid through a lack of pointing out the above.

Is there any chance of sky Atlantic being a standalone channel?

Similar to what BT sport is on the sky platform.
