Do I need the eningeer visit

I have just signed up for Fibre 65 for the new apartment I will be moving to and an engineer visit has been scheduled. Do I really need an engineer visit to set up my broadband, can I not just plug it in and go like with every other broadband provider?

If the visit is to install a landline, I have no interest in having a landline.
