topic Malfunctioning Router in Broadband

I started 'Fibre 65' on Monday, and was sent a TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub Black (Huawei DG8041W-2.T5) to use with it.

This device is defective. It continually reboots itself about once per day.

I can see from this review that this defective behaviour is well known and widespread.

This did not happen with my last router, which was a Plusnet Hub One. I use the main phone socket, which has an integrated ADSL filter.

This is not acceptable. I need a router that stays on permanently and does not randomly reboot itself.

Please advise what can be done about this.

Thank you.

It is not a common fault.

Do the logs show KERNEL PANIC ?

If so, a firmware update will likely solve the issue, staff will be back on Monday and pick up this topic.

In the meantime you may be able to get the firmware pushed to you router by calling 0345 172 0088 or using Live Chat.

Hi LungMan

I can try a different firmware first for your router, would you like to try this?

Thanks
