Your router is accessible from the same internal default IP as everybody else's i.e. 192.168.1.1, nobody else can access it unless connected to it directly and then only with your username and password.

Hi

As ferguson advises, your router is not accessible from outside, all routers are accessible from devices connected directly to them with their default IP. the 192. address mentioned.

Thanks

I want to disable internal service port 80 and 443 so I can port forward my local computer port 80 and 443, but when I try I get conflict error. See attached image shows error i am getting.Error port forwaring 80 and 443

Error port forwaring 80 and 443

I have also tried leaving start External port and end external port to 0 but that does not open port for me.

The only way to do that on the DG8041W is to set an external port of say 9080 and map that to an internal port of 80 with the rule, then use 9443 externally & map that to 443 internally. Then anyone accessing your webserver would need to use 9080 and 9443 respectively.

Other than that you could see if TalkTalk would be prepared to swap it out for the Sagemcom WiFi Hub.

what you are suggesting I have already tried that , it messes up SSL certs for port 443 as firefox gets confused and throws error albeit, to get this to work I would have to run a proxy on the remote server to direct user 80 to 9080 or 8443 which is something I am trying to avoid.

is this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314131933681?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=314131933681&targetid=293946777986&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9045954&poi=&campaignid=17116423086&mkgroupid=134652533165&rlsatarget=pla-293946777986&abcId=9300856&merchantid=114956490&gclid=Cj0KCQjw39uYBhCLARIsAD_SzMT5uXF615jgy3uZMQsse9eP86zTFz4L35CfIk2oRxHX-0YrjsIidEAaAsvMEALw_wcB what you are refering to Sagemcom WiFi Hub.but thats what I already have and from that router interface I copy pasted the device type and description

My suggestion will work, but the user will have to use 9080 & 9443, which is not really convenient. Hence why I made another suggestion.
