Router forcing my devices to reset IP lease every 15 mins

I am having an issue where the router seems to be forcing devices on my network to renew the IP lease. This is causing a big problem for me being able to stream music, video etc in the house because playback will exit every 15 mins when this event occurs.
It happens at exactly 11, 26, 41 & 56 mins past every hour.
After some research on other forums I heard it is a bug in TalkTalk routers not following protocol.

- Can TalkTalk provide me a different router without this issue?

- What other options do I have?

Here is an example of the IP lease changing on my RaspberryPi

The way that DHCP leasing works is that the router allocates the IP address & informs the client of the lease time (normally a day on TT routers). Then when 50% of the lease time has expired, it is the responsibility of the client to request an extension to that lease that the DHCP server will grant. You either have an issue with your clients, or something else is causing the problem.

Thanks for updating your profile. Line test is clear, could you switch your router off and leave it off for at least 30 minutes then switch back on and retest - please let us know how you get on

I turned it off over-night but the issue remains. Every 15 mins my RPi is forced to release IP.

dhcpcd[454]: wlan0: hardware address 00:00:00:00:00:00 claims 192.168.1.102

I did read that Keith, thanks.
The log does confirm the lease is

leased 192.168.1.102 for 86400 seconds

but it is being claimed by 00:00:00:00 every 15 mins. Thats a weird MAC address & 15 mins is very short. Ive been running this RPi for years, but only now is this issue showing up (new TalkTalk router)

Yes, that is a weird MAC address, especially as it is two bytes shorter than it should be. Did you miss two bytes off of it?

Yes. 11, 26, 41, 56 mins past. I checked again now.
The router has been left off overnight & the RPi rebooted several times since that first post, but the times of the lease change is exactly the same regardless. So it's not just 'every 15 mins', it's at those specific 15-min intervals.

This is sounds suspiciously like it's an issue with the router renewing the lease with the Talk Talk servers. For some reason TT use a 15 minute lease for the connection to their servers which basically provide your Internet.

If you have or can get a loan of a 3rd party router it would be worth trying that to see if it helps

The team have advised that they can't see any issues that would be causing this. I've re-checked the connection stats and they also look ok. Do you have an alternative router that you can test with please?

I have possibly found a workaround/solution.

On advice from another forum I changed my RaspberryPi network software from dhcpcd to NetworkManager.
I do not see the IP lease msg in my log & I was able to stream over 30 mins without issue.
I will test further today & confirm if this has worked.

For reference: I installed Raspbian Buster headless. Connected to ethernet, run 'sudo raspi-config' & change Advanced>Network to NetworkManager. Then run 'nmtui' from the terminal & set up wi-fi credentials.
