No the 2.4GHz is even slower, was getting like 13Mbps on that one.

For the last year my broadband has been completely fine, as fast as it can be in my area.

But the last couple of weeks the internet has been so slow, and I've had to restart the router a bunch of times because all my devices were saying "Connected (No internet)".

Then today I had to try couple of times to login to my account because the first times it would throw a server error.

Is there anything going on?

Hi superbcar,

Line test is passing, your connection looks stable and your router is in sync at 38.3Mbps. Are you experiencing the slow speeds on devices connected to your router by Ethernet cable or wifi?

Chris

The bottom of the upstream range is 7Mbps although upstream speeds aren't guaranteed

So just to confirm, you only experience the slow speeds on device connected to the 5GHz band? The 2.4GHz band is OK?

Chris

I can help a lot with this, but there are no set speed test values for WiFi connections. This is because so much depends on the specifications of your wifi network adapter and the level of WiFi interference.

Slow speed, intermittent dropouts, breaks in the signal, no signal on some or all devices or no internet access might be caused by Wi-Fi interference from other local networks, which can also lead to a permanent reduction in speed. No ISP can be responsible for your local environment, this is mainly a byproduct of the popularity of Wi-Fi.

Generally speaking, the 2.4GHz band suffers much more from interference than the 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz one can sometimes have a better range, but this all depends on your local area.

If you would like me to help you, please can you specify the make/model of TalkTalk router that you are using?
