Hi.

I have been having an intermittent problem with my broadband where my router will experience periods of a few days when it will lose sync with the exchange very frequently. I have tried 2 different routers in the master test socket which hasn’t helped and I was hoping you could run a line check please and see if any problems can be picked up.

Thanks.

Hi. I don't think the weather has had an influence on the connection. The problem has been quite random and only happened periodically over the last 6 weeks. Before then the connection was rock solid with the target SNR of 3db not fluctuating at all. I have been monitoring the SNR with DSLstats software.

Here is a screenshot of the SNR on Saturday afternoon when the connection was playing up. I have highlighted the loss of sync in blue.

Morning,

I'm sorry to hear this. I've run a test on the line now which is clear. The connection looks stable at the moment, however I can see that it has previously been very unstable. Do the drops in connection appear to be weather related? (wind/rain/etc) When the connection drops do the lights also change on the router?

Thanks

Michelle

Thanks for running the test. The weather doesn't seem to be the cause of the drops and I didn't check the lights on the router. The next time it happens though I will take note of both.

Hello,

Ok thank you. As you've tested with 2 different routers, cables and microfilters at the test socket, then the next step would be to arrange an engineer visit to the property if this does happen again.

Thanks
