Just had a call that seemed a lot more convincing than the usual. Knew a few details about our setup. Saying that TT are sending out new routers to customer due to updates at the local exchange box.

He seemed a bit believable until he asked me to log on to my PC so he could configure the router.

I could see some people falling for it, wasn't the usual immediately obvious scam.

Hi

Thanks for flagging and making our community aware.

Lets face it, scammers work for larger criminal organisations. with greater resource, so will always improve their technique.

The best defence is education, and to make people aware, never to engage with cold callers, but to hang up, and after a time, call in to the official number to their supplier to query any changes.

Thanks

Karl.
