Router no longer supported

I have been with TalkTalk for a long time using the same router. In March of this year I received an email saying the router was no longer supported but you would be in touch soon to let me know what to do. I received no further communication.
The router is still working but should it be replaced and how do I go about this.?

The message is mandated by the regulators simply to advise that your router is no longer supported with updates. This happens with the majority of technical devices when they reach a certain age in their lifespan. That does not mean it will no longer work. Which make/model is it? If it continue to perform satisfactorily then there is no need to worry.

The notice was a regulatory one, and as you say it continues to work so it doesn't need replacing.

A follow-up email was sent out offering alternatives. One of these was to purchase a new router for £80, if you were still in contract.

If though, you are out of contract, or within 4 months of renewing you can recontract and request a new router as part of the contract.

You would be best to phone and speak to the loyalty team as they hold the best deals and you can be specific on what you want.
