BBCiplayer is asking for my 4 digit code.I don't know what that is.

If you have set a parental code for content on the box, then any content with an 18 age rating will ask for a pin. the default is usually 0000 unless you specifically set this yourself.

I have entered 0000 as the password and it is not accepted

If you start your own thread (new message), we’d love to help.
