As I am 80yrs old I have tried to contact Talk Talk to talk to a physical person to see if it it possible for them to supply a free view box that supports ITVX. I have not been able to do this, so do I have to leave Talk Talk to access ITVX.

ITV made the decision not to bring the new ITV X App to some older devices, and this also includes the legacy TalkTalk TV Boxes. This was a decision solely by ITV and outside of our control.

YouView boxes are no longer available. You have two basic choices:-

Ring the Loyalty dept on their direct number 0345 1725157 (real people) and explain the situation. They can provide a streaming-only (no recording) box, the price of which you will have to negotiate with them. Plus you may have to pay the TV Access charge.
Buy your own recorder from Manhatten or Humax, both of which should suit your needs. I use the Manhatten T3-R and am very pleased with it. This can be difficult to get hold of though, as it is about to be replaced with the newer T4-R model.
