It appears the new TV Hub doesn't record, so what is the USB port for?

You can use the USB slot to play compatible media (for example photos and home videos) on your TV Hub.

A keyboard or mouse can also be connected. I've currently got a webcam connected to mine and used it for video calls to phones using Google Meet.
