Problem with 4k box again

The problem is that watching catchup like soaps mostly now and again the screen goes black, so I click the stop button then get back to the program but then sometimes a rotating ring appears so stop again try and up it starts I can manage this, but my wife cannot manage due to age. It is still a pain recording and the palaver about coming out of Freeserve then go to Talktalk and scroll down various programs to get to the recorded one you want. One way out is don’t record

The soaps seem to be itv so the app must be itvx unless iam wrong

Yes, ITVX will handle all ITV content. Have you ever tested any other apps such as BBC Iplayer or All 4 player to make sure they are working correctly.

The other stations seem okay but a silly question how do I download itvx app Do I go to my tv home page and click on the itvx logo.

If you have the 4K TV HUB, the ITVX app is pre-installed and should show when you press the Home button. What TV Box do you have ?
