&lt;P&gt;An aerial is needed to view Freeview channels and ITVX and all4 may require a working aerial to determine your region.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I'm assuming you have a TalkTalk TV Hub. If so you may also find that some apps will not show or be available without a connected aerial.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Also apps do vary between devices. ITVX for example shows live channels on some version of the apps and not on others, as some devices are not capable of playing live TV via the app.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;One other thing, to view any live TV or use the BBC iPlayer, a current TV licence is required.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;A local aerial installer would be your best option if you wish to use the box to it's full extent.&lt;/P&gt;
