topic Ethernet Switch Recommendation. in Technology

I've recently gone full fibre. My network is primarily hardwired with Cat 6e cable with wi-fi for mobile devices and, it's always been fine. When I got my Eero 6 router I hooked it up to a managed gigabit switch that I'd got but, found I could no longer access it via the Eero app nor by logging into its IP address web interface for some reason. I also started to notice some buffering on certain TV apps.

Anyway, I switched the managed switch to an unmanaged one yesterday and was amazed at how smoothly everything connected and worked perfectly. Web pages seem to load faster too and It also seems to have eliminated the buffering.

I don't know why this is the case. Maybe the technology in the managed switch somehow conflicted with that of the Eero.

So, for anyone needing extra ethernet connectivity for their Eero network, I recommend you choose an unmanaged switch.
