My name is incorrect

Hi there. When I was switched to Fibre from my previous broadband contract, there was a mistake made and an incorrect name was entered as my primary account name. First name is wrong, last name is fine.

It's not my mistake and nothing has actually changed so the 'change of name' form is not relevant. I'd just like to have my actual name on my account if that is at all possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go via your avatar; settings; drop down menu....Personal Information then Private Notes at the end of that section:

In BOTH areas put your name exactly as it should show in My Account. SAVE CHANGES.

It will still need staff to update it in My Account, but at least they will have the consistent name in front of them! 😊

It will have to be a change of ownership in this instance, as its not a spelling mistake, but a completely different first name.

Haha yes it is completely different name, because the operator I was speaking to when I switched to fibre somehow managed to enter a completely different name than mine, for reasons that I still don't fully understand. Hence why I can't supply evidence of my 'old' and 'new' names because they have not changed.

Why is it so difficult to just change the name? I've been with TalkTalk for nearly 10 years, my name has always been the same, but now on my fibre contract it's suddenly different? Doesn't that strike you as slightly odd?

I mean, I can live with it but it's just jarring when I get all the emails addressed to someone else, and have to identify myself as someone else when I chat on phone support.

Thanks for the help though, I'll maybe try doing the name change form (again).. Just means I need to find a stamp, and an envelope.. Been a while since I needed to use those
