Morning Debbie,

Openreach have just turned up and he's somehow going to get new wiring through the conduit, six right angle bends and about 150 yards from us.

There are a few access points along the way though.

I also do not know if he is going to renew everyone's connection, or just lay enough wires for when there are more problems.

Our neighbour but one on the other side of the road gets bad connections when it's rained a lot as well, but there is no conduit on his side of the close.

So 10 out of 22 houses are unlucky.

Hi,

When I pick up the phone the dial tone has a loud crackle, which interestingly seems to go when the call is connected.

After a call the crackle has gone from the dial tone, but comes back after a couple of minutes of non use.

I did run the online line check which came back as no fault, but the crackle is still there over the dial tone.

Broadband download speed is not affected at all, still getting the normal download speed of around 45 Mbps, but upload seems a bit slow at 3 Mbps

Hi Qwghlm

I'm sorry to hear this.

I've completed a line test and this has detected a potential line fault so I have escalated this straight over to Openreach to be investigated by a line engineer.

I will monitor for additional updates from Openreach.

Thanks

Yes, unfortunately we have lost about eight 20ft leylandii that were screening the bottom of our garden from a new estate that has been built next to our boundary. Went down like dominoes.

And they've fallen into our garden, which can be considered lucky I suppose.

Good morning,

Thanks for the update. I've checked the connection stats now and I can see that the upstream sync speed did drop. It's possible that DLM will increase the speed again now that the fault has been resolved and if the connection remains stable. We'll re-check the connection stats again on Monday to see if DLM has made any changes.

Thank for getting back to me, the crackle has been eliminated, but the upload is still quite slow at 3 Mbps when I am sure it used to be at least double that.

Not a major concern normally, but it does affect uploads to a website I run for a local group.
