Hi, I have a Fibre 500 data only package with TalkTalk.

My phone is still on the copper line.

I'm aware that copper lines are due to be removed next year.

I phoned talk talk to ask if I needed an IP phone to connect to my eero router but they told me I have "left behind copper" and don't need to replace my phone or connect it to the router. My copper line will remain. Surely this can't be correct. I have no special need to retain an analogue phone.

To allow an IP phone must I move from Fibre 500 data only to Full Fibre? And if this was done what happens to other phone extensions in my home?

Hi DanGer1

There is no set date for the removal of copper lines at the moment, so the copper landline can remain active, when it does happen you can request a VIOP service if you wanted, any wired phone extensions will no longer function.

Regards
