@pdw204, as this is with Openreach engineers already, wait for forum staff to report the problem cleared.

You are muddying the waters using Chat support at the same time, and fiddling with the master socket is not going to resolve a fault that's at the exchange.

Did you read the previous replies from staff?

They are on your case, but won't be back on here now before the morning.

Hi

My landline has not been working for some time (can't work out who to contact).

The handset shows a message 'line cord error, please check'.

Apparently the line sounds as though it is connecting, it rings for the caller, but not in my home.

Please can anyone suggest who I can contact to get the line sorted?

Thanks

Pdw204

I'm really sorry to hear this.

I've completed a line test and this has detected a potential fault at the exchange.

I have escalated this straight over to Openreach to be investigated by a line engineer and I will continue to monitor for further updates.

Thanks

I'm really sorry about this.

Can I just check, did the Openreach engineer come to the house since I raised the fault? (on June 10th)

I can see that the fault has been raised to Openreach again and an engineer visit to the property has been arranged this time.
