Inbound calls not ringing

Calls to my landline are not being received. Telephone is not ringing but it does light up. I have checked the ringer volume is turned up and does still work in the Settings of the handset.

If I answer when I see the phone light up, the call does not connect. Neighbours in this street have reported the same problem.

I should add that I tried to get help via web chat bout had to give up after waiting 20mins without a reply.

The line tests are clear - no faults detected.

Have you tested with a different phone at the test socket?

I do not have another phone to test unfortunately. The current one is only a couple of months old.

I think it is significant that my neighbour has exactly the same problem - and they have a new-style socket.

Fortunately, we now rely mostly on mobile phones but it is inconvenient for the few people who like to call our landline.

Alternatively if you could test your phone on a friends/family members line?
