hi

I can see this has been re logged to Openreach yesterday so this will be assigned as a non appointed engineer to examine the external cables. as this was only logged back yesterday, we have to allow 48hrs for Openreach to investigate before we chase them for an update.

Thanks

I have no landline and cannot make or receive calls and have no dial tone. Broadband is working. I reported this at 9.55 this morning 10.2.25 ref 15342991 and told openreach would investigate as tests suggest fault is outside my premise. I have been told by openreach an engineer has been appointed but heard nothing since and still without landline.

Can someone please update me as to what if anything is happening?

**********************************************************************************************************************

Thank you Karl for responding, have just arrived home and landline has now been restored. Can't fault Talk Talk for swift service getting this fixed but would have been nice if Openreach had confirmed repairs had been completed and updated me during the down tome!

Hi Chris

I confirm the landline is still not working. The Talk Talk engineer has just left (12.15pm 26.2.25) and confirmed that the fault is with open reach outside my property. Fault is no voltage in the cable.

I told that this will be escalated but nothing showing on my account.

Hi Chris

Engineer arrived at 07.30 this morning and checked the line inside the house and outside back to the cabinet (what ever that is) and returned to tell there was not fault between the house and the cabinet and the fault was at the exchange. He said he had reported it and it would be fixed by this afternoon.

Now gone 1pm and still no lane line and no communication as to what is happening.

If the Talk Talk engineer and the open reach engineer cannot agree on the fault what hope have I got of getting this fixed?

As I am not allowed to contact open reach and have to deal through my provider which involves going through all the checks ever time I contact them can you please help me get this resolved?

It looks as though this is still in hand with Openreach as the engineer hasn't updated the fault ticket yet. Hopefully the engineer will manage to fix the problem today, we'll check in again with you on Monday

Chris

Hi Chris

Landline service came back Friday afternoon so obviously a fault at the exchange which leads me to wonder why: -

1. I spent over and hour on Wednesday answering questions to be told the fault was in my home and needed an engineer visit at a cost of £75.

2. Having had to spend the following morning in to wait for the engineer to be told it was a line fault and need another appointment with a open reach engineer to fix.

3 Having the spent another half day with the threat of a further £75 charge for the open reach engineer to come and tell me the fault was no with the line but with the exchange and they could not fix.

4 The fault finally cleared Friday afternoon.

As a 72 year old pensioner this is not the sort of stress I need at my age and after over 20 years with Talk Talk am very disappointed at the way this fault has been handled with the implication that its was always my lines inside the house being at fault.
