Home phone not working

I can phone out to people on my home phone but I can't receive any incoming phone calls. My phone does not ring. I have spent over an hour on the chat line to an expert who just kept asking me the same questions over and over again. I have lost the will to live. How can you arrange for an engineer to come out to your home to fix things?

Forum staff will respond during the day, so check back on here and be near the master socket to follow testing instructions.

The issue needs diagnosing to ensure that the right engineer gets sent and to avoid you getting charged if a visit turned out to have been unnecessary.
