Not all areas have been wired for fibre yet.

Once you are able to be converted your house will get a completely new line and your old phone line will cease to work, so your existing socket will be redundant.

Once the new line is installed, if your router is not vaple of running fibre, a new one will be provided and it's this you will plug your phone into.

Depending on the age of the phone, you may or may not need to purchase a new phone, but this will not be known until you are converted.

On the digital changover tv ads it says you only have to plug your homephone into the back if the router.

The question is- my broadband comes in thru my telephone socket as we dont have fibre in the street. I am right to be concerned anout losing broadband or is it a stupid question?
