No landline for over a week now. I ran the online TalkTalk test, no fault according to TT.

Have just run another test ( 7 days later ), the same message, no fault. 😡

We have internet but, no phone. Unplugged all bits and bobs and plugged the phone straight into the test socket behind the phone socket front cover, still dead with just a slight crackle. When I ring the landline i get a permanently busy message.

We’ve had this happen a few times over the years, most recent one, we actually bought a new phone but, it was the line at the exchange. Every time the same fault and the same result, the line at the exchange. Last time I explained this to them but, an engineer came out anyway, switched the router on and off, plugged the phone line into the test socket and the concluded it was a fault on the line. An engineer flicked a switch on my router and for that, they charged me £50 because, it was my equipment, I got that back after complaining…it cost me a new phone though when i didn’t need one. 😡

How can a test not find a fault??? 🤔

I’m hoping they check the exchange this time…

Hi

I know exactly how you are feeling !!

I am going through the same issue ! I won’t agree to an engineer coming out as they want to charge £75. But they said if I take out a new 24 month contract they will reimburse me £50. I’d then have 24 months with them and still no landline lol. I don’t want a new contact, I just want a working landline.
I hope you get this sorted. Please send updates.
