Hardware needed for Fibre 150 and home phone

Good morning, all.

Our new Fibre 150 installation + phone is due to go live on 23rd December. We've got a new router, a Hub 3, delivered in September, and a Grandstream Digital Voice Adapter, which arrived this morning. The 3rd instruction on the card enclosed in the adapter box says to plug the blue ethernet cable into the eero. We don't have an eero; the house is small and open plan, so not needed.

My question is, does the Grandstream adapter really need an eero, or will the adapter work from a cable into the Hub 3? Live date is approaching fast, so please can someone advise?

We need a landline to support a needy acquaintance 200 miles away, so getting nervous.

You shouldn't have a Grandstream adapter as that only goes with the Eero, @hawaye.

They should only have sent the Hub3, and you plug your phone into the back of that.

The Grandstream should be returned so ask for a prepaid returns bag and label if none has been supplied.

No bag with the adapter so I'll use the bag that came with the Hub 3. Is that OK?

OK, we've waited a few weeks since the first of 4 promised live dates, and I'm bearing the scars of 30+ years of dealing with Openreach, so let's not rush this. I've had differing recommendations from the forum and from Colleen in the Shell Team. No offence, but I think I should wait until 23/12 and see what's left over after going live. (I have the promise of a loan eero, if needed). If the adapter is surplus, then I'll be right back on here asking for a bag. I hope everyone understands.
