You may have older equipment listed on your account, such as an older TV box etc.

I've just had an email that states my router and TV box are no longer supported by the
manufacturer with software and security updates? They were only replaced almost exactly a year ago? anyone know what they are referring to exactly? Seems strange that a year on they are out of date?

Do you have the Huawei DG8041W router? If not, which make & model do you have? The main thing is not to worry. TalkTalk will replace it for you free of charge.

The TV Box situation may not be as easy, again, which one do you have?

It's simply that manufacturers have cut off dates too for certain models, @Janatarl.

It just so happened that you received the router last year and since then it's a decision which means that Talktalk has to alert you to the situation.

Talktalk is legally required to keep you informed about it.

There is certainly no problem with the Sagemcom, it is still current. However, I have asked one of TalkTalk's support to pick your thread up and clarify it for you.

They aim to respond within 48 hours (Monday - Friday) excluding Bank Holidays, but if more urgent you can always try the Service Centre on 0345 172 0088. The posts are responded to in time/date order, oldest first.

thanks Karl, why did i get an email stating

"We are writing to give you an update about your router and TV Box.

Your devices are currently working and will continue delivering your WiFi and service as normal, however they are no longer supported by the

manufacturer with software and security updates. We continually monitor the security and performance of all devices, so you can keep using your equipment even though it will no longer be able to receive further automatic updates."
