Possible Scam

I have tried to contact TalkTalk to complain about a hike in their monthly charges ... easier to call the Pope ! then I get a text purportedly from TalkTalk (Grace) .... I stupidly gave name , address and email . She eventually offered a monthly discount ..... I still do not know if this was genuine or not . I tried to call the mobile number back ..... "not recognised... check number" was the reply If it is genuine it is a terrible way for a major communications company to communicate ...... very amateur.

If it wasn't genuine how stupid was I !!!!!
