Hi Debbie

Is there any update on this? It is annoying to have to keep changing firewall settings as I am not prepared to keep it on medium. If there is no solution in sight then could you revert the router to the previous working version as you did last time I had this problem.

Many thanks

smhsmh

Good evening.

As some other users have experienced with the new firmware SG4K100158 I have lost access to some connections to particular automotive equipment update servers and the most oblivious problem is that Sky on demand services are un-reachable. These problems are completely resolved by installing a Netgear router. I would be grateful if the issue could be investigated. I had this problem previously with a previous firmware update and debbie reinstalled a fixed firmware to resolve the problems.

Regards

smhsmh

Hi smhsmh

I'm really sorry for the delay. Our Devices Team have advised that the medium setting for the firewall is fine and it should have been set to medium in the first instance. There was an issue with the firmware which set this to high and resulted in the VPN and other issues.

Thanks

Hi Debbie.

Thanks for the update although I am not convinced that the medium setting is secure enough. If this was the case there would be no need for a high setting at all. The previous firmware worked on high without the issues experienced with the new firmware. Although I am not a firewall expert it does seem to be a configuration problem. As it seems that the talktalk router seems incapable of achieving a normal connection that other routers do without any problems I will use an alternative router.

regards

smhsmh
