For testing purposes I changed the default single router wifi identification name to "My 2.4Ghz" and "My 5Ghz" so I could "see" them but of course now any guest that now visits and wants to connect have to set the password for both in order for their devices to automatically switch between the two.

I have finished with my testing but how do I revert back to a single login, is it as simple as just renaming both of the 2.4 and 5 Ghz to the same name. ? Like "Marvels Router" or something.

Hi @Marvel,

If both bands have the same SSID and password then devices should be able to switch between them automatically as required. So you could reset this manually, or if you just wanted ALL of your router settings to return to their standard defaults you could do a factory reset of the router by holding in the reset switch on the back for over 10 seconds.

Ok thanks. Don't fancy doing a router reset as an engineer has just spent 2 days sorting out connections for me up the street, down manholes and up posts and I and leaving it for a few days to settle in.

Both bands do have the same password I renamed them so I could see what Hz my phone was connecting to as i once had an issue that the 2.4 was not working but the 5 was. This was not my issue this time so I want to change back to both the same SSID name.

A personal name also makes it easier for my guest to find instead of trying to repeat to them DG4.1247-9995 ( or whatever ) and instead just rename it "Marvel" Example.

Ok yep, so if you just ensure both SSID's are the same, and the passwords are the same, then devices should just switch between them as needed.
