I have never seen this issue before of using a static IP address which is outside the DCHP pool on the Sagemcom router. Apart from one slight port forwarding issue, this router works fine with PF.

Setting a static IP address must always be done on the device, not the router & must always be outside the pool's scope. Are you confusing this with a DHCP reserved IP address, which, because it uses DHCP every time it connects, must be inside of the scope?

Trying to deal with your other question, what sort of package are you on, ordinary broadband (ADSL), FTTC (VDSL) or Full Fibre (FTTP)?

I'm about to setup my own TP-Link AC2100 DSL router to replace my Sagem Fast router

(Port Forwarding doesn't work correctly - using a static IP address which is outwith the DCHP pool)

Using the TalkTalk guide setting up a non talktalk router, I have a FTTC connection for fibre.

Why Question is - am I using non-fibre broadband settings or fibre broadband settings?

thanks in advance.
