Hi @martynwjones

I'm so glad to hear this 🙂

Was this still the fix?

On my iPhone

via iPhone settings >Sonos App> toggle ‘local network’ to [on].

It seems on initial setup the SONOS app ignores this setting. Then when you close the app and re-open it reads the local network is "off" and will not allow connection to the speakers.

Hi Martyn,

I'm sorry to hear this. We no longer have the option to switch off the wifi optimisation but we can look into this for you. Do you know roughly when this started happening please? What is the model of your SONUS and Echo please? Have they recently had a new update or do they have the latest software?

Will both devices not connect at all?

Thanks

The speakers are new.

The SONOS app connects and can see the speakers when they are initially set up.

After about 15 minutes the speakers disappear from app (iphone).

When Searching for the speakers they cannot be found - however, they are playing music so must be connected.

I have split the networks (2.4 & 5GHz)

On the Echo music can be playing (say Radio 2) then randomly stops - need to power off and power on to get them working again.

Thanks for your help

Martyn

I'm now also having problems getting my Sonos Roam to connect to the TalkTalk router. At first I thought it was my old iPhone which has iOS 15 but I've tried with a later phone that is iOS 17.5.1

The TalkTalk router does not allow the Roam speaker to update via the Sonos S2 app. I've tried a firmware reset to the speaker, removed & reinstalled the app, rebooted the router. The speaker has an IP address and appears in the WiFi 2.4GHz connected devices, but does not work correctly.

Is there a solution available please?

Hi @martynwjones

I'm so glad to hear this 🙂

Was this still the fix?

On my iPhone

via iPhone settings >Sonos App> toggle ‘local network’ to [on].

It seems on initial setup the SONOS app ignores this setting. Then when you close the app and re-open it reads the local network is "off" and will not allow connection to the speakers.
