router firmware issues

My internet connection went down around midnight on 18 November. The LED on the front of the Sagemcom FAST5464 remained white for 10 minutes or more after my laptop indicated there was no internet connection, and when I logged into it during that period, the Device Info was still showing the status of the connection as UP, which it clearly was not. Eventually it went through the process of reconnecting. Once it had reconnected, I expected to see the Connection Time restart from zero, but it did not. Today the Connection Time shows as 2m 22d 21h14m50s, which is clearly wrong, as it has only been connected for less than 2 days.

Are these issues (failure to indicate loss of connection immediately, and failure to restart the connection time from zero) known firmware issues? If not, please ensure these issues are reported to whoever is responsible for updating the firmwware.

Hardware Version FAST5464 2.00
Software Version SG4K100208

Please monitor and let us know, should this happen again.

@Billx

Thanks for reminding me of that inconsistency. I was aware of it, but have got so used to looking at xDSL connection time in Device Info I forgot about the inconsistency on the Dashboard.

@mandisa1-TT
Connection time in Dashboard, My Internet Connection shows days, hours and minutes, which match the days, hours and minutes shown for xDSL connection time in Device Info. Once connection exceeds 1 month, the connection time in Dashboard, My Internet Connection no longer matches the connection time under xDSL in Device Info, which shows months, days, hours, minutes and seconds.

Please add this to the list of issues.

@amahle-TT

I do not understand why you are asking me to confirm whether I am still having issues with loss of connection. It would appear that you have not understood the purpose of my last comment, which was to point out a further issue with the firmware that Bill's comment reminded me of.

Perhaps some images will help. Note that these images are for showing the issue with the firmware, and not to show any issue with the connection.

Here is an image that shows connecton time as displayed in the Dashboard. It shows the connection time as 23 days, 18 hours and 16 minutes.

connection time on Dashboard

Here is an image that shows connection time as displayed in Device Info. It shows the connection time as 2 months, 23 days, 18 hours, 17 minutes and 34 seconds.

connection time in Device nfo

As you can see from those images, because months are omitted from connection time shown on the Dashboard, once the connection time exceeds 1 month, the connection time shown on the Dashboard does not match the connection time shown in Device Info.

The firmware shoud be corrected to include months in the connection time shown on the Dashboard.
