Hi - anyone know how to enable Bridge Mode on the Sagemcom FAST 5364 modem router that comes with Fibre 65.

I've purchased a couple of eero 6e pro devices to replace inconsistent wifi extenders and eero suggest putting the modem/router in to bridge mode.

I've logged in the the admin GUI and poked around including in advnaced but can't see anything that mentions bridge or passthrough mode. I can see I can disable wifi but that's not what I should use is it?
I'm familiar with the use of SSH - I configure Unix web servers.

Log In to the Admin GUI:

Open a web browser and type in the modem's IP address (commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).

Enter your login credentials (default might be admin for username and admin or password for the password unless changed).

Find the Advanced Settings:

Navigate to Advanced or Network Settings.

Locate Bridge Mode:

Look for a section labeled WAN, Internet, or Router Settings.

If you don’t see “Bridge Mode” specifically, find an option labeled something like IP Passthrough or Transparent Mode.

Disable Routing Functions:

If you find Bridge Mode, select it and apply. You may need to disable DHCP on the router, as well.

If you find options to disable routing, ensure those are selected to allow the eero devices to handle the routing functions.

Save and Reboot:

After adjusting the settings, save your changes and reboot the modem/router.

Reconnect the eero Devices:

Connect your eero devices to the Sagemcom modem via Ethernet, and follow the eero app instructions for setup.

Change DHCP Settings:

Go to Internet settings and then Manage advanced settings.

Under IPv4 WAN Addressing Type, if you can change it to Static, set a static IP configuration that matches your network needs, but avoid assigning DHCP to this router while your eero devices manage that feature.

Finalize DNS Settings:

If you have the option, set the DNS settings to point to a known public DNS provider (like Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) to manage DNS through eero.

Turn Off Wi-Fi:

Consider turning off the Wi-Fi feature in the TalkTalk Wifi Hub settings. This ensures there’s no interference from the modem’s wireless signal.

Hi - if I switch the WAN addressing type to Static where do I get my public IP address from? I surely can't retain the one assigned from TalkTalk?

I can, as you suggest, set my IPv4 DNS servers manually to Google's
The eeros don't have DSL modem capability (I'm on Fibre 65) so I will need to retain the Sagemcom for this functionality. The eeros will replace the wireless SSIDs on the Sagemcom.

Please try the below steps to Enable Bridge Mode on Sagemcom FAST 5364

Access Modem Settings: Connect and log into your modem's web interface.

Navigate to WAN or Internet Settings: Find the Bridge Mode option.

Enable Bridge Mode: Toggle the setting to enable it.

Save Changes and Reboot: Confirm the changes, then restart the modem.

It is designed to work with the Full Fibre package instead. Since we've explored all other options for setup, this compatibility issue may be the reason we're unable to establish the connection.

The Sagemcom 5364 is both a modem and a router. The question was to put the router in passthrough or bridging mode as eero recommends. That can be done but TalkTalk are unable or unwilling to help with this.

Although not ideal my choices are to use double NAT mode or replace the Sagemcom with a more configurable third party DSL modem router

On FTTC (Fibre 65), you still need the Sagemcom FAST 5364 because it handles the VDSL connection, so you can’t bypass it like with full fibre. That means:

True bridge mode isn’t available on this router.

The best workaround is DMZ + disable Wi-Fi to avoid double NAT issues.

Here’s what you can do:

Log into the FAST 5364 admin interface (usually 192.168.1.1).

Go to Advanced Settings → Home Network → LAN IP.

Assign your eero a static IP (e.g., 192.168.1.2).

Navigate to Advanced Settings → Firewall → DMZ.

Enable DMZ and enter the eero’s static IP.

Disable Wi-Fi on the FAST 5364 (under Wireless settings).

Connect your eero gateway to a LAN port on the FAST 5364.

Put your eero into Router mode (not Bridge mode).

I know this.

Bridge mode is available for the FAST 5364, but you would need to send a JSON-String, most probably via a POST request to the correct endpoint. I can't find any exact references to doing this

I've set up the 2 eeros I have using double NAT and disabled WIFI on the Sagemcomm.

I will reevaluate my options in September when my TalkTalk contract is due for renewal.

I understand.

What you’ve done—disable Wi-Fi on the FAST 5364 and run eero as router—is perfectly workable for most scenarios. The main drawbacks are with inbound port forwarding and some VPN/gaming setups.
