I don't use my landline

I hardly use my landline these days, preferring to use my mobile phone for making and receiving calls. I was just wondering if I'd still be able to access the internet if I had the landline taken out. I have Fibre 150, but as I don't think I have it set up right, although I've tried several times without success, I'm wondering where do I go from here?

You can still use the broadband service without connecting your phone.

Are you experiencing issues with using the connection?

Even the phone not working correctly, I have no problem connecting to the internet. I have two Eeros, one downstairs and one in my bedroom, but I don't think the phone, the Eero in the bedroom and especially the VoIP are connected up properly. If you look back at my previous posts, somebody suggested sending an engineer out to check that my equipment was set up correctly, but as I've been having some health issues which ended up with me going into hospital for a major operation, I haven't been able to get things sorted out. The landline phone in my bedroom is rather useless anyway as it doesn't hold the charge.

Yes, I have a digital voice adapter plugged into the eero, but the cable from the phone won't fit into the adapter as it only has a small fitting. I can't send you photos as they're the wrong format and they're too big. Maybe I should buy a new phone?

Can I just confirm, have you also tried connecting with a microfilter?

Plug your phone into the microfilter
Plug the microfilter into the Phone port (green port) located on the Grandstream adapter.
Check all 3 lights are on

Hi Marion1022,

The port on the grandstream DVA is an RJ11 (the small one) to connect a normal BT telepheone connector you'll need to use the adapter provided which I assume is the one in your photo?

I've plugged the other end of the RJ11 into the back of the Grandstream and have used my landline to ring my mobile phone. The blue icon for the phone appears to flash on and off on the Grandstream and instead of a ringing tone, it's a fast beeping sound, and my mobile phone doesn't ring out.

What goes in here? The only other cable I have in the back of the Grandstream is the blue internet cable with the other end in the back of the eero.

If your telephone cable has and RJ11 connector rather than a standard BT connector (the type that fits into a standard telephone socket) then you don't need the adapter which I think is what you are holding in your photo. The adapter enables you to connect a telephone with a standard BT connector, to the grandstream adapter
