Okay... And I'm sure you're all fed up with this by now... But... I have received a text from Openreach about the free FTTP upgrade, engineer coming November 6th... I currently have the TT fibre 35 plan. My questions are - Will I need a new router, and, I currently have a phone line extension (RJ11?) from the main Openreach box to where my router is upstairs. Will I be able to keep this extension (Even if I need to change the cable) and can the engineer do this for me?

Have you been offered Digital Voice with this upgrade? If so, you will be provided with either be given the Eero and a Grandstream ATA for the phone solution or the Sagemcom Wi-Fi Hub 2, which does the lot in one unit.

All the engineer will do is to connect one phone (or the base station of a DECT cordless phone), depending which you have to the phone port of either the Grandstream or the WiFi Hub 2.

Any existing phone cabling is totally down to you. The phone port on the ATA or hub behaves like a telephone master socket. To cabling to another socket is possible, but it depends on your skills. See this video on how to do this:-

All I have is a text from Openreach, no other correspondence, no offers of anything. I can run the extension myself... Would I need to upgrade the extension from old bt cable though? I was thinking of getting some cat6 in case I take a full fibre offer. Thanks for replying 🙂

If there are no issues with your current router / connection, I would wait for the engineer.

All went well, and connection is 4 times better :). My final question about this is...

When the full fibre deals say "No phone line" does that mean no landline capability at all, or It becomes per minute billing, or I have to pay extra to have it?

Oh, and does the digital voice mean I can link my mobile to landline, if so, how do I enable it?

"no phone line" means no 'phone service or connection for a 'phone voice service. So no conventional 'phone line voice service nor a Digital voice service via broadband / voice over internet protocol (VOIP) service. Just data only broadband. It's all set out during the initial order process at what a data only service means.
