Can I just confirm, which FTTP package are you being upgraded to?

Thanks

I have Fibre 65 with a TT fast router (Sagemcom 5346). The router has no dedicated phone port. My desktop PC and TV are hard-wired (cat 6) to the router. I have a landline phone. So, two power sockets required, one for router and one for phone.

Installation of FTTP with digital voice is scheduled for 10 November. I've been sent an Eero 6 router and Grandstream digital voice adapter. The Eero 6 has just two ports. Presumably one to OTP and one to Grandstream.

Does this mean I can no longer have hard-wired desktop and TV and I will need four power sockets intead of two (OTP, Eero, Grandstream and phone)? Surely there is a more elegant solution that will allow hard-wiring and fewer sockets.

Hello,

Thanks for your post. If you do need additional ports then it may be worth looking into a switch/hub. I'm sure our members will be able to offer more advice on this.

Thanks

The outcome of this. The TT guidance says full fibre to premises is simple. A black box is installed, your router plugs into this and your phone plugs into the green port on the router/wifi hub. Just three power sockets (Black box, router, phone).

But if your router doesn't have a green port you're not sent a router/wifi hub that has one. Instead, you're sent an Eero router with just one ethernet port, a digital voice adapter and advised to buy an ethernet switch for more ports. That's five power sockets (Black box, Eero, ethernet switch, voice adapter, phone). But the digital voice adapter isn't guaranteed to work with all switches so the phone still might not be an option.

Come on TT, why not just supply a router with four ports and a phone port as your literature shows?

Ask for a Hub 2 router that's the one with the green phone port and 4 ethernet ports
