Line test - on an FTTP installation.

My question is simple. When TT run a line test, does it run on the fibre too, or just on the copper?

Background. I am on FTTP at 160 Mb/s up, which was converted from copper broadband by the nice people in Freedom Fibre in October. Yesterday, it went down, so I logged in to my account and reported a fault. The (presumably) automated system ran a line test and came back saying no line fault.

BTW: My service came back up later when the "2.5GE-ETH2" light reappeared on the Optical Network Terminal.

Hi Flumoxd,

The line test should run on Fibre too. Just to confirm, is everything OK now?

Chris

Thanks Chris.

I appreciate your remarks. It seems that the line is good now. Both speedtest.net and speedof.me report ~160 down and ~100 up on a direct wired link. Wireless is not so good, so I'll investigate this my end.

Hi Chris

I think I may have mis-posted my answer to your query. This is what I said:

It seems that the line is good now. Both speedtest.net and speedof.me report ~160 down and ~100 up on a direct wired link. Wireless is not so good, so I'll investigate this my end. I haven't had the chance to play with the wireless yet.

Thanks for your help.
