Hi, our openreach Engineer did not arrive yesterday and we cannot get any information as to when they will come

If they missed a fixed appointment time, without telling you, then you are due automatic compensation, @Melharvey:

Was this in this respect of a new installation, or upgrade, or with a fault you had reported with an existing service?

I have the same problem today. My parter has stayed at home and all it states online is that the engineer is delayed. We have all the equipment so can’t figure why we need an engineer anyway. I am away and am unable to call and trying to find help online as to where the engineer is etc is proving impossible. I am going to be without internet for work now too

Go via your avatar; settings; drop down menu....add Talktalk phone number or account number in Personal Information. SAVE CHANGES.
