Is a moderm required?

Newbie here and not tech savy.i have just ordered my full fibre.TalkTalk to send me eero pro 6. Do I need to buy a modem? I think my old router must have one built in because I certainly have never had a modem before. If I need modem then why

are they not sending me one??

If you have ordered FTTP then a fibre cable will be connected directly to your home, with what was is known as an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) installed inside. This effectively acts in place of a modem. And an eero, or other suitable router, will connect to that via an ethernet cable. All equipment will be supplied, as necessary.
