when i go to my talktalk wi-fi settings my IP address starts with 192 which is UK based - but when i go to whatsmyip.org its starting as 124 ....a completely different one. Could you please tell me how i revert back to my talk talk one??

when trying to log on to national lottery it rejects my effort as it says i am based outside the UK.

I have a Eero router - do I have to power that down for 30 mins to get a new session??

any help appreciated

The '192' IP address is only relevant 'behind' the router (the Eero in your case), by that I mean the IP allocated to your devices by the Eero on your private home network. '192.168.X.X' addresses are only assigned to be used on private networks in order to connect devices on that particular network; they are never used as public IP addresses (the IP address the internet 'sees' you as (the '124' IP address you refer to)).

For example, I'm currently using a Sagemcom router, the computer I'm using has a private IP of 192.168.0.51 (allocated by the Sagemcom - I've altered the parameters slightly from the default settings), but my public IP address is currently (2.X.X.X).

You may well change the '124' public IP by turning the Eero off for a while, but the public IP will never be '192.168.X.X'.

My underlying problem is that when i go to sign in on certain websites - The national Lottery being the main one - says my IP address is not UK based? Are there any steps I can take to change this??

If you haven't already reset your ONT/router then try https://www.whatismyip.com/.

This gives more basic and readable information than https://www.whatsmyip.org/

The IP block 124.... I believe is in China! Weird or what?

I would strongly suggest you power off the ONT and router for at least 30 minutes and recheck.

@ferguson No, absolutely not using a VPN. My external IP is definitely 2.101.X.X - confirmed by the router and that site.

I've also had 78.X.X.X, 92.X.X.X, and even 212.X.X.X some years back as external IP addresses on my TT connection.

OK, well nothing seems amiss from the information on the screenshot, have you tried the 30 minute switch off? Otherwise, wait and see what the support team advise when they are back online from tomorrow.
