eero 6 range poor

Upgraded from full fibre 65 to ff150 VOIP .. received one eero A voip box . (Didn't know I was getting one ) . I didn't instal eero for a while as was busy on holiday and hospital appointments etc and the sagecom was working well.. I fitted the eero but the range is not great , tried moving with longer cables different places but poor one end excellent when in same room . My sagecom was a better range.. : Soon we will be having a new tv but am worried the range of the eero wont work well ..as I only get fair to poor in our lounge. Will my sagecom fast5464 still work (after installing eero) if I take off the eero .. Or do I have to pay for extender /s ?
