Have you ever clicked on the link within one of these spam emails?

The 5.71 error usually relates to bulk spam originating from your email address and is not something TalkTalk would apply because you have forwarded a phishing email.

It sounds like you email address may have been compromised.

I'd recommend

you exporting your email address book so you don't lose them

Change your email password

Run a virus and malware scan on your devices

to secure your account.

As for the 571 error, this may disappear once bulk mailing ends (not sure on this) but there seems to be a number of solutions people have posted elsewhere. Google could be your friend here (I haven't read them myself).

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Yes I know TalkTalk has changed its policy about reporting phishing emails, but it's made it so awkward now to help it try to stop these emails, that I have given up in frustration and tried to use the easier old way.

I simply forwarded the suspect email, but as a punishment, Talk Talk have issued a 5.71 "error" message notification, which appears every time I open eMClient.

It does not matter how many times I hit the "Ignore all" button in the notification window that appears, I cannot get rid of this annoying notice.

If I promise never to bother your Phishing Dept. again, will somebody please explain how to permanently remove these irritating notifications.

Incidentally, I am disappointed that I can now only use the "Delete and block the domain" option, which does not stop these criminals from sending more phishing emails and, more importantly, has stopped me helping TalkTalk to protect OAP's from being scammed.

(probably incorrectly), TT locked me out of all my accounts.

I have now got access back, but have just 5 mins ago, got back into this account, via my newly set up Community acc.

So may I close this topic, with relief and gratitude.

John
