Sagemcom wifi hub loses settings when power is switched off

Turned off the mains for about 20 minutes to do some electrical work and when I turned it back on the router had lost the network name and password I'd set, reverting to the ones it came with when new. Is the router faulty? I'd have expected it to retain them in memory. We've got various other bits of work to come which will need the power off again so it could be a real pain if I have to keep changing the settings back to how I want them each time.

I recently had to move the plug for the router and ONT into a single socket using one of the adaptors below as i needed the other one for something else i had no issues at all.

Members are often advised here to turn their routers off for 30 minutes when they have problems with their connections they wouldn't advise that if it was going to cause other issues and its not something i have read before.

Hi Andrew,

It is unusual for the router to lose Wi-Fi settings when powered off, I've not seen this before.

Have you set the Wi-Fi back up and is it working ?

These replies confirm my suspicions thanks. It's now back working on the settings I re-entered but will presumably lose them if the power is turned off again; I won't do it unnecessarily to check as it's a pain and I'll get complaints from others in the house! Looks like the router has developed a fault so can I have a replacement please?
