Channel Hopping/WiFi Optimisarion

Hi,

Any chance this can be turned off for my connection as it causes problems with my 5Ghz network overlapping with the neighbours WiFi. If I switch manually to a higher channel than 36 the connection is fine but by the next day the router resets it and my wife gets starts getting connection dropouts on work video calls.

I'm sorry but we no-longer switch off wifi optimisation as this causes other problems

OK so in that case what is the solution to a managed connection that defaults to the same channel as everyone else casing noticable lag and interuption? Change router to one that doesn't allow talktalk access to mess up user settings? Change network?

Hi Alan out of interest which router do you have as i have checked my eero and there is no option to change channels?

With an Eero router, you cannot manually change the WiFi channel as it automatically selects the best channel based on your environment using a feature called "Automatic Channel Selection"; meaning you can't directly choose a specific channel within the Eero app settings.

I have same problem - there is only one strong interfering signal which is from next door. My Eero is always on the same channel (36).

Same on 2.4GHz, but occasionally Eero goes to a quiet channel there.

The Eero router does not allow user change of channel.

@spaarks11 - You will have to open a new thread if you need help the support staff will not discuss your problem in another customers thread.

I had the eero connected but then had issues where devices wouldn't connect on 5Ghz at all so I switched to the old Sagem one from talktalk where I knew I could set the WiFi type, channels and bandwidth settings

I would try turning the power to the ONT off for at least 30 minutes and swap back to the eero before turning the ONT and eero back on at this stage you have nothing to lose until this is picked up tomorrow by the community stars or Monday by the support staff.

As it says the eero automatically selects the best channel based on your environment if yours is not doing this they will probably offer you a new one to try to eliminate it.

If you have further issues when you connect the eero take screen shots of the connection from your eero app like these below this will help them get to the bottom of your problem.
