I'm having problems trying to connect firestick to eero 6 router using an ethernet connection. When I input the DNS1 as 79.79.79.79 and DNS2 as 79.79.79.80 it isn't recognised.

Any ideas please?

Hi,

Sorry I'm confused. The Fire stick does but have an ethernet port and is connected via WiFi only, so you should only have to select your WiFi name and input the password.

Unless I'm missing something here (likely as I only have the Eero, not the pro) there is no configuration required to connect the firestick .

Thank you for your response.

I can connect (and have done) using wifi. However I wish to connect with ethernet. I have all the necessary hardware and it's all plugged in and ethernet is working with other devices (laptop, android box, smart tv). The problem is the firestick set up not recognising the DNS id I input.

But as said, there is no ethernet port on the firestick, it's WiFi only.

Hi,

I don't recognise that box as being a firestick. A firestick is an oblong stick with an hdmi connector and no Ethernet.

Or is your TV an Amazon TV and not a firestick?

I'm not going to be able to help if you have a device with Ethernet connection so will leave for staff to pick up.
