I just rang TT to get a price to upgrade to full fibre, but was told as I'm still in contract, I would have to pay a cancellation fee , is this a new thing. When I've upgraded before I just have to start a new contract. My account option is to upgrade to Full fibre 150 for £12.95 more than my 150meg gfast (I get a good 150 and reliable)

The £12.95 was extra/month, The uprade was £149 cancellation and £30 admin fee. So told them to forget it , but might try again when I recover from the shock!.

@Terrick, it's usually dependent on how close you are to the end of the contract - it used to be OK within 3 months. Definitely 30 days.

When they first introduced line-inclusive packages [rather than a separate charge] c 8 years ago, we could renew whenever we spotted a better deal. Without announcement that mysteriously got changed to "mid contract charges" etc

The bottom line is that you can always haggle.

Hi Terrick

Upgrading mid contract does incur a admin fee, especially as you only renewed in September last year, added to this moving from Gfast to FFTP is more complicated as its a different infrastructure in terms of routing to the property, i think this is why a cancellation was suggested, but when i checked your account there is no option to move to Full fibre.

Sorry.
