I have just ordered full fibre 150 and the email I received said that I have the correct equipment already , I have the hg633 , is this router suitable for full fibre

The Huawei HG633 router is designed for ADSL2+ broadband, not full fibre.

If you need to use a landline make sure they are aware -

TalkTalk's Full Fibre broadband packages, including options with voice, offer a mix of speeds and features. You can choose a data-only plan (no landline) or add a voice line to your FTTP package. TalkTalk uses Digital Voice for landline calls, which use your full fibre connection rather than traditional copper lines.

The information you have been given is wrong the HG633 will not work, here are two examples -

Will the Huawei HG633 work with Full Fibre 150?

No, the Huawei HG633 is not compatible with fibre connections.

It's designed for ADSL (legacy) connections and will not be able to utilize the faster speeds and technology associated with fibre broadband. You will need a router specifically designed for fibre broadband to get the full benefits of your connection.

ADSL vs. Fibre:
The HG633 is a legacy router designed for ADSL connections, which use copper wires. Fibre broadband uses optical fiber, a different technology that requires specialized equipment.
Fibre-Specific Routers:
Fibre broadband routers are designed to work with the specific technology used by fibre, ensuring optimal speeds and performance.
Compatibility:
You will need a router that is compatible with the fibre connection provided by your internet service provider (ISP), such as BT or TalkTalk.
Replacing the HG633:
You can't use the HG633 with a fibre connection, you will need to replace it with a router specifically designed for fibre broadband.

Yes, it is suitable for fibre as in FTTC, but not Full Fibre FTTP. And it is an old model no longer issued in any event. It also looks similar to some routers that are. Did you not make clear that it was a Huawei HG633 and about the requirements for your new package? From what you have told us here I am not sure you have received correct advice.

I uploaded photos from the front and back of the router , the said rest assured it will work , was on chat for over an hour , so frustrating

Hello @Mrobjoo , I personally don't believe the HG633 is fast enough for Full Fibre 150. The grey Broadband port on the back (where you would plug in your internet connection coming in from the modem) supports VDSL2, ADSL2+, ADSL2 and ADSL transmission technologies. Of these, only VDSL2 is fast enough for Full Fibre 150. VDSL2 supports a maxmium download of 200 Mbits/s. TalkTalk Full Fibre 150 download speed is 150 Mbits/s. So no problem there. However, the real problem is its yellow ethernet ports (marked 1,2,3 and 4 where you would connect your PC to it). These only support up to 100 Mbits/s. So the fastest speed you would ever get is 100 Mbits/s. So you would be losing 50 Mbit/s.
