Hi ya

I have just noticed after picking them up to dust both of my Eero routers are getting quite warm on their base's.

I am going to try and lift them bits of wood strips to sit them on so that there is air circulating around them.

Is this normal?

Thanks ❤️

Oh yeah "Thingy" is a highly technical term. hahaha

Hey there @Pash02, thank you for raising this to us as I do understand.

With your Eero's overheating/being warm is not normal as there will be a few instances which can cause this but by you stating that you will make means of placing them in a position where they would get air circulation, I will strongly advise that and see if they would still be warm overtime. 🙂

In addition, should they continue to be warm even after you have tried the above stated, I will strongly advice for you to get in touch with our specialist team using 03451720074 Mon-Fri: 9am-7pm; Sat: 9am-6pm; Sun: closed as the team will tackle this matter smoothly for you. 🙂

Thanks.

Thanks, current temps are 34 and 34.2 c using a meal thermometer touching the base of each Eero for 30 seconds each

External air temp is 20.3 c

Thanks again

Thank you for that information. Please continue to monitor and if it does not get any better then please contact the specialist team above and they will be able to look into why this is the issue with your eero.

They are not overheating at all; it's just how they are. There are no air vents or fans in them; all the electronics are packed into a small casing, and the metal underside is the only way to dissipate heat. I normally put them on some old coasters.

They do run warm, like a lot of electronic devices. If you examine the edges around the bottom you will see that they are slightly raised at the corners, so as long as you have them on a hard, flat surface then there is room for airflow underneath.
