Is your mailbox migrated to the new TalkTalk Mail platform i.e. recently migrated? The Search feature has been significantly improved.

For unmigrated mailboxes you can carry out a simple search of a folder. For example, if I search for "unthreading" in the Community email notifications in my Inbox I'll get 6 results for this topic. Those result are in date order. The top one is the most recent message to arrive in the Inbox. So, you could identify when those mail messages were timestamped and then refine a search by looking for all messages for a given date.

The new TalkTalk Mail platform allows a truly refined search.

Searching for E-Mail Messages

Define folders that are to be searched
By default, all email folders and their subfolders will be searched, except for the Trash and Spam folder

Use search terms for sender, recipient, subject, email text, attachment file names

Use quotation marks for search terms that include several words

Search the email text for a specific wording

Limit the search to a specific time frame

Limit the search to email messages with attachments or with coloured labels
You can use just one option or several options in any combination

Forwarding of mail - just select the mail message to be forwarded. You can add your reply above the forwarded part of the message and edit / delete any part or parts of the correspondence thread.

When replying to a message there is always the option to reply without including the original mail message. This is a Mail settings option under the Mail > Compose heading in Settings.

Help please. I have a 'tiscali' email account. Does anyone know how to unthread the emails? I find them chaotic as they are. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how they are threaded.

Hoping for help. I can't find any elsewhere!

Thanks.

Start with how you view the mail messages. Webmail via an Internet browser or Email software or mail collection service like Gmail.

You can view messages as threaded conversations or in date order and select Unread messages only. So explain what you mean by 'chaotic' because I cannot see what you see.

Hi

Sorry to have taken so long to respond. I'm really grateful for your offer of help.

I have quite a few family commitments so only look at my emails when I have time.

If you are still willing to help I'd be really grateful.

I look at emails via an internet browser ( Google Chrome). I'm not particularly IT literate so I hope I've got that right.

As to chaotic, perhaps that's the wrong description. Sometimes there are really long threads, each new email having the previous emails attached so that there are multiple versions of the same email within the thread.

If I search for emails from a particular source using the search facility, it pulls up all the emails in which they are included not just those that the source have sent. It is the latter which I would prefer.

I also sometimes want to forward certain parts of the communication to others not the whole thread and don't know how to do this.

As I say if you are still willing to help, I would be grateful.

Thanks.

Doreen
