Best not to speculate how this information has been acquired!

However it looks as though the phishing scam is joining the legions that have harvested addresses at some stage, and thereafter sends out with different "sender" addresses every time. It's thereby very hard to stop, no matter how often you report Spam and try to block it.

It's worth checking on https://haveibeenpwned.com/, as this can indicate whether your email address and other information has been harvested in the past. One can end up receiving messages as though sent by oneself sometimes.....!

And worth changing your password even if you didn't click on the link.

Hi Taxi33

It's a scam phishing email.

Scan your email devices to ensure there are no viruses, trojans or other mailware and as a precaution change and upgrade your email password. Be on your guard for further rogue emails purporting to be from TalkTalk and note that there are no links to click to 'Verify' 'Refresh' 'Upgrade' or 'Update' your email account in official TalkTalk communications and at no time will TalkTalk ever ask you to enter your email address and password other than on the official sign in website.

Report a phishing or spam email

hi gondola and others

I have received two of these spam phishing emails and forwarded them to phishing@talktalk.co.uk. BUT how do we know if the spammers using fake tiscali and talktalk email addresses ( or are they real ?) are not on the community looking at names IDs and posts , hows the security on the community?

regards

Blodwyn
